On February 12, 2011, Mars Hill Study Center began its first session of three classes as a part of Miami International Seminary (Miami, Florida).
This last Saturday, four of the seven students who started the session finished the three classes. Congratulations!

The next session will be on June 11-July 30, 2011. Watch for details at the Mars Hill Study Center website.

Announcing the launching of a new Website called “Mars Hill Study Center.”

This is the official Website of the study center, a free resource and teaching center for Filipino pastors and church workers from nearby communities.

You can enjoy browsing the site now, but there will be some pages that are still under development or needs content. Of particular interest for some will be the “Forum” where people can discuss various topics of interest.

Please feel free to make comments and suggestions, and if you find bugs or broken links, please report them to me.

Mars Hill Study Center is offering a class in Biblical Hebrew. Details are as follows:

Biblical Hebrew Start: August 22, 2008
Days and times: Fridays, 10 am-11:30 am
Fees: Free tuition; approximately 10 pesos for class materials.
Who may attend: Pastors, church workers, college students of all levels of Hebrew language knowledge

Mars Hill Study CenterMars Hill Study Center will be opened to the public on Thursday, July 31 at 10 am. It will be a low-profile affair. No hoopla, press release or parade. Just a sign in front of the building saying we’re open for “business.” We’ll rely on word-of-mouth, flyers in churches around the area, and prayers.

As you can see, there’s still a bunch of needs, including:

  • Printed resources: Books, journals, magazines, periodicals
  • Multimedia equipment: TV, DVD player, LCD projector, and multimedia resources
  • Computer equipment: Two PCs, laser printer/copier, DSL router
  • Furniture: Two computer tables, bookcase, office table, chairs, whiteboard
  • Appliances: coffee maker, microwave oven, split-type air-conditioner

Although it’s not fully ready yet, what we have right now is a good start. This is already quite a bit of resources that will help local pastors. And we’re very grateful to one of our United Reformed Churches for donating about a hundred books, which include many Bible commentaries and exegetical resources, and which we hope will arrive from the States in about a month.

Please spread the word to your friends who live in the area. College age and beyond are all welcome!
