Since I happened to be in California during the 2008 presidential elections last Tuesday, I couldn’t help but compare elections and campaigns in the States and in the Philippines.
I’m back after getting over jet lag the last week, just in time for Oli and Nem’s wedding last Saturday, October 25. It was a warm sunny late afternoon in Anaheim, California, and everything went well. As happens in weddings, it was a thoroughly enjoyable time of reunions - family, Faith Academy and college buddies, and friends. Congratulations, Oli and Nem!
Last Saturday, after a whole day of teaching and a three-hour commute, I came home to a dark subdivision and a dark house. No typhoon, just a power outage for some unknown reason. Another three hours of darkness… No water. no phone. Can’t beat that.
I begin this post with an apology because of another change in our plans.
After much consideration, we felt that the financial obligations associated with membership in Action International Ministries are beyond our means and in view of the decline in our support over the last year, we do not feel that we will be able to meet ACTION’s requirements.
