Our Continuing Mission Search

_

Pasig Mission ChurchBy this time, some of you are probably so confused about what mission organization we’re in that you want to give up on us. But please don’t.

A few days after last Christmas, we received National Heritage Foundation’s approval to set up a foundation called Far East United Reformed Foundation (FEURF) as one of its foundations. We then wrote to all of you to send your tax-deductible financial gifts to us through FEURF, so we thought were finally on our way to stability. However, on January 26, 2009, we received a shocking letter from NHF announcing that they have filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U. S. Bankruptcy Code, and that our funds with them (worth more than a month’s expenses) are frozen!

Now, we’re back to square one, as we’re looking again for a mission organization to join. We have two good prospects, and we hope to announce to you our new membership within the next 2-3 months, Lord willing.

Meanwhile, during this difficult transition period – and in the midst of an economic crisis – we’re asking our supporters for patience and continued support. Until we’re settled, we’re prayerfully asking them to directly send their gifts to us through David and Irma Crows’ address in northern California, which we would furnish to those who are interested. However, this would mean that these gifts will not be tax-deductible.

Because of this present crisis, our financial support has decreased substantially, which means that we are looking at every possible way to pare down our expenses. One major savings would be moving out of the office space we rented for Mars Hill Study Center. A lightly-used Christian center in the area is enthused with the idea of moving the study center to one of their buildings. If this works out, it would mean that the worship services of our mission church would also have to relocate there.

If all of these things happen, we pray that we will have a smooth transition, both in a new mission agency and in a new place for the study center and for worship services.
