Finally, ten days after her birthday, Rachel was able to gather three of her friends for a birthday party. Many of her other friends are now in their home countries for furlough, but Amanda, Angelie, Heidi, and Rachel had a great time together at the Mall of Asia, although it was a stormy day. After the mall, they planned to be at an amusement park called Star City, but when we got there, we learned it was open only on weekends during the rainy season! Although their plans changed, the rest of the evening was spent at our little home playing games and opening presents. They weren’t a bit disappointed.
The party’s timing was great, since we finally had water service after almost three weeks. We survived with God’s ample provision of rainwater for general use and water from the mission school for drinking.
