Back in circulation as disaster continues
After a brief 15-hour power interruption due to the onslaught of Typhoon Fengshen, we’re back in circulation.
We thank the Lord for His protection, but we also pray for the tens of thousands who are now suffering due to this typhoon. An average of 20 of these cyclones hit the Philippines every year, some big (like this 120-mph one) and some not so big.
Our little discomfort is nothing compared with the details of disasters slowly trickling in from the news wires. The saddest one is the sinking of a passenger boat with almost 800 on board in the central part of the country. Only four survivors have been found so far; the rest are missing. One wonders why the ferry was allowed to leave port despite warnings that a typhoon was about to hit. More than 220 others (toll rising by the hour) have died in the storm.
