Evelyn’s recovery

Evelyns metal plate1.jpgToday (March 5), exactly a month after her surgery to repair her femur fracture, we went back to the doctor for a checkup. Her X-ray showed very good progress – the fracture line is discernable only to the doctor’s eyes. He put her on a two-week physical therapy program, and then she “should get rid of her crutches” (!) We’ll defy the doctor’s orders, and wait another week before she starts PT just to make sure that the bone is strong enough, then have another checkup.

We continue to be encouraged by our family’s and friend’s words and generosity, as well as by God’s daily mercies on Evelyn, Rachel and me. Our Providence reminds us that “He preserves me in such a way that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, all things must work together for my salvation” (Heidelberg Catechism Q. 1). A million thanks to all those who have supported us in prayer and provision during these difficult days!

As for me, I’m on my last month of teaching. The seminary admin was gracious enough to reshuffle their schedule so that I would teach only on Thursdays, 7:30-4. But for this month, I’m teaching a couple of extension classes in Bulacan province (north of Manila) on Saturdays, 8:30-4:30. Pray that I would be able to finish grading papers and exams on time.
