Our family blog resurrects after three months. Since the last post, here are some highlights:
(1) Evelyn and Rachel arrived in Manila on August 18. Rachel was late for school 11 days, and had to make up work fast.
(2) I continued working as a Computer Technician at an engineering company in Concord, CA until October 13, leaving for Manila on the wee hours of October 15. We thank God that we were able to augment our financial support during those six months of working there.
(3) Evelyn resumed her duties at the mission school’s library soon after her arrival. She also tutors a small group of missionary women in Tagalog, the Philippines’ national language.
(4) I resumed teaching at the two seminaries on November 13, with a load of five classes. I’m commuting 1.5-2.5 hours one way three times a week to those seminaries. It’s a joy for me to teach over 30 eager young men and women who have been called by God to preach and teach in their churches. Please note that I’m teaching as my mission assignment, not as a paid staff.
(5) I resumed attending the bimonthly meetings of a new federation of churches, and am also helping them in preaching and teaching once a month.
(6) I plan to start two Bible study groups: one with 2-3 other couples, and another with a college group early next month.
All of these, if the Lord wills (Matthew 6:10; James 4:15), I’ll have energy to pursue over the long term. Please pray also for the needs of Unida Biblical Seminary, as they have great needs in the areas of a dorm for the men, office and library equipment, books, and teachers (full-time, part-time, modular courses).
Thank you for being here with us, some of you for all of these past thirteen years.
