Summer Update

Dear all,

It has been awhile since we sent you an update. I just completed this spring semester this morning with the last of my five final exams. It was not a very good decision for me to take 17 units in a semester; my learning probably was a bit diluted with such a load. So I’m thankful that it’s over.

So I’m looking forward to my last year at seminary starting this fall semester. The Lord willing, I’ll be in the graduating class of 2005.

While I was on my last three weeks of the semester, Evelyn was off to the Philippines. We could finally close out our apartment in Davao City and dispose of most of our furniture and appliances. She ended up shipping some of the more major things such as the living room set, beds, A-C unit, and some personal things. They’re now in storage in Manila, waiting for us to come back next year. Evelyn came back yesterday afternoon.

Tim and Chesney are doing well and enjoying three-month-old Caleb. We see his pictures almost every day at timches.com. Just before little Caleb came into the scene, they moved to a mobile home they bought in Scotts Valley, CA, just a few miles from Santa Cruz.

Lem is completing his first year at Brooks Institute of Photography. He’s a real professional photographer now, and will be doing a couple of weddings this summer, one of them in North Carolina. So he’s available for those important occasions to help him pay for his tuition. LemsPics

Oli completed his first year at Biola and will also be looking for work in the summer. Rachel is looking forward to the last four days of school, but will be losing a couple of friends in fifth grade. She’ll be celebrating her 10th birthday in a little over a month.

If I don’t find a summer job somewhere else, we’ll be staying in our apartment here in Escondido. We’re planning to be visiting our friends at least here in California. With gas prices so high, we’ll probably limit ourselves in-state.

Drop us a line or two if you can. We also want to know how you’re doing.

Blessings,
Nollie for all of us
