Southern California Fires

We’re OK here. Right now, about 3:50 pm Sunday, we can see flames on the eastern hills about 20 miles away (I think). The sky has been twilight-like since early morning, and the smoke has been slowly darkening the skies more and more. Ash has been falling steadily since a few days ago. The wind is blowing very warm air all over southern California. There are many fires all around us. The other big one is about 15 miles to the south, going towards San Diego. The freeway from our place to San Diego is closed. Lem is trying to figure out a way to get around the huge Simi Valley fire to go back to Ventura from LA. Hopefully, he can get back tonight, because he’s supposed to be working tonight.

So we’re thinking about a possible blackout, because some transmission lines are gone. We’ll keep you updated.
